Tom, that rig is GORGEOUS!

Rob's holsters are still RUGGED, but I don't think anything that looks that good could be called SIMPLE anymore......
I was wondering what you think of that Colt. When those guns first came out in the early '90s, I thought they were some of the tackiest things I had ever seen and turned up my nose at them even though they were reasonably priced for Colts. I have since heard, on the various 1911 forums and from other sources, that the ORM (old rollmark or "billboard slide") 1991A1s were some of the best made, most reliable and durable guns Colt ever made despite their crappy looks. The ORM 1991A1 Combat Commander I have certainly seems to be so. It doesn't look like much, but it is solid as a boat anchor, accurate, and super reliable.
Have you had the same experience with your 1991A1?

This Colt set me back $350.00, it had been polishe , honed, and tweaked for awhile. Inside it is not an A-1. Best Buy I ever made.

That was a deal any day. I paid $700 for the C/C I have. It is bone stock except for a set of tritium sights. After playing with it for a while I decided it didn't need anything else. Put a set of elk bone grips on it and called it good.
