Ruger SP101 Match
Someone give me a good reason for a 5 shot competition revolver.
You don't have one...

Poor choice in a name... Love the new grips..
I wish they would make an ALLOY SP101... much better than the too bulky cheap plastic LCR...

I have the Gp100 Match Champion, not sure what the
benefit is to the Sp101 match? Whats the difference?
SP SMALLER. BUT ADVANTAGE OR DISADVANTAGE? YOUR CALL
DEPENDS IF CARRYING OR SHOOTING IS MOST IMPORTANT
Ruger SP101 Match
Sort of an answer in search of a question.
I like the SP101 (I have an earlier version in .32 H&R [4 inch barrel] with the windage adjustable sights) and shoot it fairly well. It has a pair of aftermarket grips of indeterminate origin on it that fit my hand well and the low recoil of the .32 H&R cartridge definitely helps.
If I want a .357 4 inch to carry, I think my Security Six is a better choice than a 4 inch SP101, but I recognize others might differ in their conclusion.
In days of 7 & 8 shot revolvers I can't give one.......nt

Ruger SP101 $0.02
SP 101, 327 Federal, six shot, 4.2" barrel, makes much more sense to me. I received two pistols for Christmas, a Single Ten and a SP 101 in 327. With ammo becoming more available, online 250 rounds of Federal JSP 327 is $105.00 shipped after rebate. The 4.2" SP 101 is about as big as you can get and still be a pocket gun. The GP 100 is a truck, holster, and belt proposition but is an all around, tank, run forever, apocalypse, survival, revolver.
I would like a set of those grips for my SP 101 327 Fed. nm

Potential sales, I reckon. I've never wanted more from a GP than a short ejector housing and fixed sights; and my last 2" SP101 shot better than I could hold it at 25 yards. But guys like me aren't what drives the market.
