Being patient has its benefits!
I've "wanted" a wood stove to use in my shop for some time now. Don't really "need" one, there is electric heat out there, and because we receive 3-phase power, our energy bills are quite reasonable.
Still, there is something about sitting near a blazing wood stove with the dog curled up beside you that is irreplaceable. So I've kept my eyes open for a good deal on a stove. Been watching for a little over two years, and kept missing out on good deals here and there.
Yesterday my USPS driver (a good friend) told me one of his customers had a Blaze King for sale, a brand made here in Walla Walla.
I drove over to the address and ended up bringing home a solid stove, a little surface rust, and it needs two fire bricks, but solid. The price? 50 dollars American!
Gotta love this town......
Otony
You did good............nt
.
You will
love that Blaze King stove! When I built our first home in 1981 I put a Blaze Queen model in the house as our only source of heat. Installed a hot air return in the alcove above the stove and blew it throughout the little house and I only had to build a fire about every other day. That little stove would drive us out of the house if I stoked it too much.
You could set it up like this.
