Bearly enough gun - Buffalo Bore testimonial
Pun intended?
Sorry, couldn't resist.
I believe Rob knows Mr. Shoemaker or may have met him? I recall some other stories about him.

I think we were in the semi pro loafing league... He is probably the best bear guide in Alaska. Phil stopped by the shop a month or so ago. He and his wife were visiting the Grand Canyon and stopped by. He showed me stills from this bear. He had faith in the BB ammo and his ability. He did order a couple holsters for his M13 .357 and M629 Mountain Gun, so has up gunned a bit from his 3946. Jason C at Lipsys is trying to get a Guide Special 3946 made I am absolutely bored by all the second guessers that have never even seen a bear let alone shot one. How dead does the bear have to be...

Would I do that? Of course I would!
Nm
What impressed me is how cool he was "under fire"
Do what you gotta do - you can panic after it is over...
Agreed. Comes from a lifetime around the bears...
and Phil has a lot of wisdom about such things. I don't know how many bears he's disassembled but it's a lot.

Is that the holster for the Model 13? That's a beauty. What is the trim material?
BTW, I should apologize for my handling error at CSA on Saturday. I know better than that. My bad, and just goes to show that we should never allow ourselves to get complacent.
Phil is a combat vet as well as a Master Guide. He
told me he ALMOST took a favorite old Tokarev that he had acquired from someone that no longer needed it, out for that trip. It had proved with hot Soviet Ammo, to out penetrate the (mm BB loads. Can you imagine the heads spinning if Phil would have used a mere .32!
