CZ compact 9mm?

I have CZ-75 Compact and like it. Other than the Browning P-35 Hi-power, it is the ONLY high capacity 9mm that fits my hand. The Glocks don't. The Beretta's don't. Nothing else I have picked up fits as well.

Since it fits my hand, it is the most accurate hi-cap 9mm I have shot. Also very reliable. The full sized one has much the same attributes (fitting my hand), but is bigger ahead and below the hand. More than I need. The compact at $550 was perfect size. I have not checked lately, but it may be less now. It was bought in the middle of the Obama years.

There is also a clone made in Turkey, I believe, that is dirt cheap. It is a Canik 55 Stingray-C. When I verified that it fit the magazines from my CZ-75 Compact, I bought it brand new for $300. It is heavier since the frame is steel, but other than that and the finish, it is identical.

The Caniks are also sold as Tristar - handled one

The other day at Academy Sports. On sale for $325. Everything I have read is really good. Seriously considered getting on. I have the Witness clone - great gun. To me they are a double action Hi Power. The Tristar T100 is the. Impact aluminum frame.

Years ago the CTI was doing a training day up at the gunclub. The guy setting up let me play with the Jericho clone of the compact CZ they had on hand, even gave me three rounds to shoot out of it. At first handling the gun didn't "feel right". From my usual "bullseye" stance it pointed low, didn't line up. But when I engaged a couple of steel targets set out at around 50 feet or so it swung smooth and functioned perfectly. Bang-clang, Bang-clang, Bang-clang - left, right, left. If only they were affordable and available here now the temptation would be strong to pick one up.

The CZ75 and clones would be perfect for me...

Except for that ultra extreme round trigger. The Sig 226 is a close second with the same problem. The tip of the trigger on both guns puts pressure right at the edge of my trigger finger and fingernail making it extremely sore after shooting it in DA mode. I have pretty fat or thick fingers and I think that's the majority of the issue, but I just can't shoot them well because of it. I had a stainless CZ75 that I just had to have and I let it go for that reason. As easy as the triggers are to change on both guns, you'd think they would offer straighter triggers. CZ actually does but it isn't a huge improvement. I've just about determined it's 1911's and revolvers for me. Tempted sorely by the new CZ striker pistol though.

I never paid that much attention to them in the past but I really like the way they feel and handle. I have a Shadow 2 on order so I'm jumping in with both feet.

I've been a Glock guy forever and never figured I would own another 9mm. I recently bought two Walther PPQs and have a Walther P99 Compact on the way. I'm really liking the Walthers and if I end up being able to shoot the DA/SA trigger on the P99 well I'm thinking that I'll pick up a CZ 75 variant of some kind also. Right now I'm thinking of a CZ 75 SP 01 Tactical but that could change. First world problems I guess but there are just so many great 9mm pistols out there right now.
