Said good-bye to the Trooper
Folks,
I said good-bye to the Trooper Mk III because it was not a good buy. Guy would not budge as much as I wanted and I wouldn't move off my offer (two .357 Vaqueros in their cases plus cash). He wanted too much cash, in my opinion, so in the end I walked away from the purchase.
All is not lost because they have a nice four-inch Model 66 with a superb action. Have to change the grips if I buy it. I hope to get it for $600.

You have better guns in the Vaquero's or the Smith & Wesson. You didn't miss out on anything. Just my opinion based on past experience with the Trooper MkIII.

He doesn't want to ship, but if you could make a deal, I'd be happy to try and help get it to your FFL.
Second chance
And, it's nickel!
Small pictures but at least it has a big price.

Pretty much presented as tongue in cheek. Just another service we offer!
Enablers! Thanks
Folks:
Bought the Model 66 yesterday. The Vaqueros trade-in was all that was needed. It's a 66-2, so no pinned barrel nor recessed cylinder. Must have benefited from an action job somewhere along the way because the trigger pull in SA or DA mode is light, smooth and crisp. Have to switch the grips to something smaller; the Pachmayr Gripper is huge.
95% condition (some holster wear). Overall, quite satisfied with the deal. Now I just have to wait for the permits to get approved -- two more weeks of waiting.

Reminds me
of the Official Police I saw on consignment at a local fish/hunt chain store. Price tag was $1000.00.
