I mistakenly said you were right.
Rio Bravo was the third version of "The Stars in Their Courses."
First there was "Rio Grande," then "El Dorado," and then "Rio Bravo."
Caan as the knife-thrower Mississippi appeared in "El Dorado."

Rio Bravo is the first, El Dorado the second,and Rio Lobo is the third. Rio Grande is a cavalry picture, part of John Ford's so-called cavalry trilogy of Fort Apache, Rio Grande and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon.
