Pokynojoe check this out - polymer broadheads
Yea, there's been some chatter on some archery forums..
Actually, there was a company, can't remember the name, that tried to market plastic broad heads back in the late '60's early '70's. Didn't go over too good.
I'd have two questions:
1 Are they legal?
2 What happens when/if you hit bone?
The price is right though. Says there not available yet, or out of stock, or some such. Good company, I'll probably get some to play around with, not sure I'd hunt big game with them until they've been proven.
BOLO Broadheads were plastic I believe.....
I have a few somewhere I will have to look.
I read an article comparing kill effectiveness between
Broadheads and stone arrowheads. The stone ones did surprisingly well - of course they probably created a really ragged hole. Which may have helped
I seem to recall Don Crabtree convinced ...
his surgeon to perform open heart surgery on him back in the late '70's using stone blades he made himself. The surgeon was surprised at how little scarring there was.
