The shop just took in a Triplelock .44 Special........

........and I will be posting pictures later this evening. We will offer it here first, then at the Single Actions forum. Price to be determined, it has been reblued and has some pitting under the blue. Not horrible pitting, but the pictures will tell the story.

The grips appear to be from a 1917, fit tolerably well. Again, the pictures will tell the story.

Bore has bright, sharp rifling, with about 15 to 20% pitting. Very good condition given its age.

Serial number is 10xxx, and the xxx are three identical numerals in a row which might give palpitations to suspicious Christians. ;-)

The old reblue is in about 70% condition, the barrel markings are sharp, the S&W shield is ever so slightly blurred.

Lockup is very good.

Pics to come.

I wish S&W still made such fine pieces of machinery rather than the plastic "toys" that sell so well to the unwashed masses.
