Howdy -
I've been off the board mostly for a couple years. Job, a couple moves, married off a daughter, and a new Grand daughter this April....
Anyway - I'm wanting a 1892 or clone in .45 Colt. Mainly for farm use with mild 200-250 grain lead loads. Occasional deer hunting with lead bullets.
Thoughts? I can't even remember who's makin' what anymore?
Thanks,
Mike P

Rossi 92, try to find one without the safety. They make fine farm guns!
Yep, good guns for sure.

for not buying a Rossi 45 Colt back in '01. It was selling for $250, just prior to the CAS guys running the prices through the ceiling. Still looking (every three years or so) for a pre-"safety" one in the used rack. They just don't pop up very often.

than $800. It has been slicked up by Steve Young and has a Foolproof. I guess I need to shoot it more.

Not a '92, but a good deal on a '73

Just saw this one. No, you can't load it as hot as a '92, but the '73's are sweet guns!
I have the Rossi 92 in 357. Great little gun for shooting

Since you have both to compare, if you could only keep one

which would it be?
357 for sure. It's my 2nd one...

The first was Jim Taylor's that he had slicked up and written an article about. I should have NEVER let that one go.
Both of mine are octagon and they look great but but they don't handle nearly as nice as the round barreled carbines.
