Hey guys...
looks like I'm gonna win a High Standard Sport-King .22 pistol for about $250.00 ... think that's a decent price... what's ya'lls concensus on this pistol and the price?..
Hey Don! They'll shoot.

As I understand, it's the 'economy' version of their target models like the Dura-Matic, etc. The few I've handled did right fine for me. I think the price looks pretty good but should confess to not following them.

The one I shoot years ago was fine, better than I could do as I recall. Price, 250.00 is good in my opinion.

They were grand little pistols, my Grandfather had one and I took lots of small game with it. He sold it when I was about 18, and I probably killed more partridge with it than all of them I've taken with a shotgun in my life. Do not know their current value, but they were highly prized around here in the past, selling for as much or more than some of their target grade guns. It sounds like you could be getting a pretty decent deal to me.
I won it... looks to be a 1951 model Sport-King 6.5"

Looking forward to the range report. :) I'd rather buy one of the old pistols than some of the modern offerings. Sounds like you got a good one!
Likewise...

Most of the new guns have been "improved" until they are not worth spending the money on.
