Midsouth has Rem Small Pistol Primers
Do rem primers have a reputation for being hard like CCI?
Sorry, I have no experience with them.

I was reading about some Remington Small Rifle primers which are supposedly not suitable for .223 pressures but it didn't seem conclusive as to why.
Not as far as I know. I think...
...I vaguely remember them being "rated" as softer than Winchester which are softer than CCI.
I use mostly Remington large rifle primers, some large pistol.
