Shot the Police Positive Target .22 LR today.
Was able to put 12 in a row on the 4" plate at 50 yards even though I had to hold low and right. The sight has been in place since the gun was made and won't move. Now soaking in Kroil. Not sure that it is accurate enough for squirrel heads.

I have a '48 issue Colt Official Police in .22LR with 6" barrel... it prints right at POA at 50 feet (about 17 yards)... not bad for a fixed sight old Colt... GRIN
Gotta love those old Colts.

Sounds like it has very good potential for squirrel heads to me. May have to play with a few different loads to find what it likes best, but suspect it will not be too difficult to get it shooting plenty good enough. Best of luck getting the sight working proper.

Maybe not squirrel head but I don't always shoot them there.
Put a properly constructed bullet out of a pistol through
the chest and you don't tear them up too bad and it does put them on the ground. I like Power Points and Small Game Points.

I'm using Eley Target this year from my Marlin 780. It is a subsonic solid bullet.
Some people love those hyper-velocity hollow-points...
I know people who use .22 Mag HPs...

Guess people use what they like but I have no problems with solids.
