Miss Melodie has pronounced that the 1894 Marlin is,
"A lovely little rifle."
A sack full of .25-20's, a bunch of water bottles filled at the creek and a gravel pit all combine for a big case of the grins for the both of us. One very small adjustment in the rear sight had bottles exploding left and right.
Now to load up a bunch more!

They are fun !! Aren't you glad you went for it.
I like my rifles to shoot straight, not left and right.

Ya gotta hold yer tongue jest right...
Miss Melodie has pronounced that the 1894 Marlin is,
I have had a life-long affair with the 25/20, my grandfather gave me a Win 92 SRC when I was a toddler of 3 or 4, it was my first centerfire firearm. Still have it, love shooting it, really enjoy hunting small game and varmints with it. It would seem Miss Melodie has it exactly correct, lever action carbines in the small calibers are indeed lovely little rifles.
I'm Shocked!!
Shocked; I tell you...
