I may give some serious thought to a new 45 S&W Shield...
I like that it has a 6+1 and 7+1 capacity and its small but not just micro small. All the reviews I've seen so far seem to be good and it has a real front sight! I am not a fan of fiber optic sights. They are bright but for someone with a stigmatism they look like a cluster of grapes.
Might be a good candidate for
XS Big Dot sights.
Look at one and load the mags first... This ME saying
I prefer the 9mm Shield to the 40 or 45...yeah, weird...

Mini 45........
I found a used Kahr PM45 a few weeks back, almost bought it but decided against it, may regret it later though. Have heard mini 45's are slow to recover from recoil, lighter weight would be a plus for carry but make follow up shots slower. That's why I ended up with the Kahr CT9, figured if I needed a 45 I can pack my Baer Commanche.

41 Mags rule, Baers rock!
Just got one in on inventory, let me know if you want it
it sure does feel good, I like the new grip and how it feels. I too have heard good things about them, other than the mag being hard to fully load, but I suspect that will ease with use.
I got it in for the business, so it's for sale, $425, shipped. PM/email me if you want it.
Matt
I wish I could...
That's a great price but I'm looking at a future purchase after saving my meager (more meager now that I'm back in school...lol!) allowance.
of the 3 mentioned the XDs is the one I have boght, twice
they handle well mags load easy point good...I can shoot my 9 mm Shields faster...

XDs
I really believe the XDs is one of if not the best Sub compact 45s out there. I have no problem keeping most of my shots on a man size target out to 100 yards. It has been totally reliable in my hands and it feeds anything I have tried through it. I have only seen it not function one time. it failed to go fully in battery when someone else was shooting it. It was still new and I suspect they limpwristed it.
I have carried mine everywhere I could for the last 4 years.
I like how they look and feel in the hand...
Not a fan of the fiber optic front sight (at least with my eyes). Other than that I think it would make a great daily carry gun.
carry the XDS 45 more than anything else - I like the grip
Safety - about as ambidextrous as you can get and I am a lefty. Controllable - wouldn't want to run a couple hundred rounds in a session, but not vicious.
I would NOT recommend the Remington High Terminal
Performance 45 acp for a Shield or XDS - turned my XDS into a flame thrower with a nasty muzzle blast
Good to know! :) NT.

I like how they look and feel in the hand...
Black or white paint would fix that problem.
I carry mine more than anything else, and also have a 9mm...
...which I got for a song and a dance. The .45 XDs is the one that fits well behind a pulpit, too.
Fitting well behind a pulpit is important...
Seems to be the direction I'm heading:)
Fitting well behind a pulpit or toward purchasing the XDs?

Fitting well behind a pulpit....hmmm! Tell me what you...
Starting back into Bible College this month...possibly with a new job in security at the school that has the potential to put me through police academy as well. We'll see how the job thing goes but the college is for certain.
All right! Keep us posted o how it goes!
