I had been thinking about this off and on in the last few months. Today we've got so many plastic fantastics that pretty much copy each another. We used to get along just fine with fewer choices. A .45 was a 1911. You either had a Colt or a Smith revolver. Nowadays the younger set seems to think a person is unarmed if they carry a revolver. I'd rather carry a fixed sight .45LC S&W than Glock, but S&W doesn't listen to me.(The 69 in .45LC?)

S&W 69 in .45ACP?
by D. Sikes, Wednesday, July 20, 2016, 09:32 (3054 days ago) @ Drago
ya know...
the closest to that would be a Charter Arms Bulldog in .45ACP... and they actually make them... I might seriously consider them... Charter Arms isn.t too bad a gun... GRIN

Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, Don.
I wish Smith had made the Model 22 in .45LC along with .45ACP. That or a Model 58 style in LC. But I'm a "crotchety old Luddite" who doesn't understand marketing.

Customs; 45ACP with moon clips and 45 colt on the rims... I did it to a 45 Colt Mountain Gun, worked great.

that's nice but I've been hankerin for a K-frame / L-frame size 5-shooter in .45ACP.. that's why I specified a S&W 69 in .45acp...
and with your idea... I wonder if he could take a M69 and rechamber to .45acp or would the cylinder walls be too thin or the cylinder too small to make it work...
if Charter Arm's can make a 5-shot Bulldog in .45acp then it would seem like S&W could do the same with a M69 size 5-shooter...
would be nice...
meh, get an XDs in 45 ACp... better made they work and carry

We have a Shield .45acp coming in tomorrow.
by Otony, Thursday, July 21, 2016, 13:26 (3053 days ago) @ Rob Leahy
Should run about $430. If it works well, I see XDs sales slumping a bit.

....but it feels terrible in my hand, way too skinny in the grip.
The XDs feels much better. Much. Better.
That's all I can say until I pop off a box or three, but iffen it don't feel right, I likely won't bother with it.
