B-in-L has talent......

I know there are a few on here that play instruments and thought you might get a kick out of these.

Brother in Law builds fiddles, banjo's and mandolin's, nice ones too, though sometimes he goes outside of the box in materials like bed pans or old wood cigar boxes. A while back I stopped in to visit and he was showing me the instruments, gotta say I was shocked at not only his talent but how clean they sounded. If I was blind folded when he played the bed pan I would have sworn it was made out of normal materials. Same goes for the cigar box fiddles, which my sister plays, shocked again not only by the sound but that she will get up and play in front of people, they are in a blue grass band with friends. So today when I was there I grabbed my camera and took a few pictures to share.

when i was stationed in Arizona back in the 70's.. I was is a blue grass band paying a 5-string banjo... one of my musician friends made banjos usinf old aluminum torque converters from cars.. the 11 inch torque converters were the proper diameter for the skins... and they "rang" very well... nearly as good as bell brass.
