7.5 FK from Brno - any thoughts?

I think that sometimes I must have blinders on as news of this round and the "companion" pistol is 1+ years old but I just now found out about it. Knowing the wide-ranging knowledge of the folks here I thought I'd ask for your thoughts.

My thoughts? This round excites me more than the 5.7x28. I can see at least some utility (depending on local law and regulation). I don't know that I'd need to replace what I already have but it is interesting. I do find myself tending to shoot revolvers in the field simply because I get to keep my brass. I imagine this brass is going to be pricey. I wonder if some of the bullets that I see touted for the cartridge will ever be available because of some current laws.

Drops a red stag like a poleaxed steer.

They didn't show where the bullet struck. I'd bet placement

was pretty darn good. True of the second shot, too.

No doubt...

but that little round was carrying the mail.

Some parallels I couldn't help but notice... at worst it is a pocket 30 Carbine, spiced with modern bullet technology. Except these bullets tend to tumble in gel like the 7.62xx39. I have seen plenty of examples of what that round does to people, cars houses and critters. At 200 yards it's loafing along about 1900 fps, but the FMJ tumbled when hitting this 2 1/2 gallon water junk and ripped it open.

Based on the video I think that's some of the 7.5's magic.

Thanks...

I'd not heard of the round 'til Hobie posted about it. An initial search (in too much of a hurry) yielded zip of the info I wanted. That video's got most of the goods. I do question, however, their contradictory projectile weights. Methinks that the 6.35 is grams, not grains. Folks get all confused over metric weights and such. Anywho, it's an interesting new round for sure.
