1911 gunsmith needed

I'm looking for a 1911 gunsmith. I had a Para P-16 built by Dawson Precision years ago and now I would like to turn the gun into a single stack. It is set up nice with Bomars and Barsto bull barrel etc. I want to use it for single stack in IPSC and as it sits now because of the Safe Act!!!! Can't shoot it as a high cap and I'm not pinning my hi app mags or don't want to shoot limited 10. So I need a smith to fit a single stack lower receiver to my slide.

It might cheaper to just buy another 1911 than have a gunsmith fit a new grip frame, considering the cost of the parts and his time to fit everything together. Or buy a Taurus or RIA and have that complete grip frame fitted to your slide. That would keep cost down, just something to mull over.

Sorry I can't recommend a gunsmith, those that I would trust to do it are not taking any new work in, though you might try one of these guys, no personal experience but they do good work.

I don't mind spending some money to get a receiver fitted to my slide. I have some money I tot the gun as it is with the Barsto barrel and sights etc. it was a nice IPSC gun when I could use it as a hicap gun. I'm thinking of getting back into IPSC and shoot single stack class and my upper as a single stack would be a awesome set up. Probably would get a Caspian receiver. I'm going to call Dawson Precision tomorrow to see it they would do it. But they look like they have gone more of the retail of guns already set up and not building guns. May also call EGW they built my first IPSC gun.
