I bought a military style cotton sling and it turned out to be a J-hook style sling that I really know very little about. I won't be "slinging up" with rifle, at least not with a front single point and the rear cinched around my bicep, so I up unlooped it, pulled the J-hook off for now and just ran the sling through the sling slot on the butt stock. I actually like it this way but it isn't long enough to carry around the neck and shoulder and let the rifle hang across my chest. Works great hanging under the left shoulder though. I'm gonna leave it like it is for now, do some research on slings and try to find the simplest two point sling that adjusts quickly and easily and then change it. Maybe some day I'll find a use for a j-hook sling. Otherwise, I really like how it turned out. Had to run out to the range and make sure I didn't need to readjust my scope after popping the base off and putting it back on and it was dead on. I'm very happy with how well this turned out.
