one of the nurses husbands was in his tree stand Friday with his trusty marlin 45/70

I think he was using factory 405s

he started shooting and put four into it....wisely stayed on the stand for quite a while , called his son and they found it piled up in the brush, not far away and already stiff

quite a big bear, they are processing the meat too. estimated its curb weight was about 1000 pounds :-D

I thought "spring bears" were skinny after the long winter.
