"The Shootist" and paid close attention to Gillam's shooting lesson, and I've seen every episode of "Adam-12" so I'm set. BTW can anybody tell me where the thumb safety is on my Glock 19? I can't find it so I haven't shot yet; but it does carry real nice.

Why would I pay an RSO to bark commands at me...

When my wife is more than eager to do that on a daily basis. Although tedious, and sometimes difficult to understand, I get it gratis. I have to say though, that sometimes the cost for failing to adhere to the "regimen" is dear.

She walks around a lot muttering the words "idiot" and "incorrigible".

Despite my recalcitrance, I have to admire her persistence, for almost 40 years now, I'm still receiving daily instruction.

County in TN. That would have been great. Supposedly modeled after Thunder Ranch. Neighbors pitched such a fit about the noise that would come from it that the zoning board axed the zoning change. I doubt that was really why they wanted it blocked, just couldn't find anything else. I hope the people try again somewhere else close.

Training and practice should never end.

Clint Smith came out the first Holiday at Raton in '98 and we got some really nice 1911 and SAA skillsets outlined.

Much, much later, I got a job offer from some non-descript outfit that turned out to have some really good people. They had no problem at all letting JohnBoy join in the shooting trade school when I could manage my boss into accepting the idea that one of the armorer's jobs was to provide 'range support' from time to time.

There is no money in my budget...

For much, but I do read and watch quite a bit on training and practice some of the drills at home. For now, that is the best I can do, would love to attend some good training some day.

Training? Training?

Get as much formal or informal training as you can from different sources. You can learn something new or different from everyone. Also would add it's just as important to stay in shape and be health. That can help just as much when in a fight or confrontation.
