??? about my Star PD

I finally got to shoot the Star PD and it is a keeper. Very accurate and feeds everything I put through it without a hiccup after sitting 20 years.
Now most every gun I have I grind on or tweak something to make it more to my liking.
My first question is what is the value of a like new gun with the box and two mags?
What will I do to the value if I bob the hammer and maybe smooth out some parts that bite. Most likely make the gun ugly but more friendly shooter to me. Hammer bite sucks.
Now I have to state that I don't need this gun for a carry I have plenty of others. Just wondering if I should leave it alone or go to town on it? J.Michael

As a long time PD owner and shooter, the only thing I did was put Pachmayr grips on it for better control with my small hands. Shooting it a lot smoothed things out. One thing I've learned over the years with my guns, if you want to keep it and shoot it, make it yours and don't worry about resale. Rarely will anybody will give you what you think its worth anyway.

I love the PD, and from what I've seen over the last few years is that $400-$450 is the going rate for a good specimen in the box with extra mag.

I know I've seen parts somewhere but I don't recall. I have spare parts from years ago.

Bob's shows them listed.

A few clicks down the page here => http://www.gun-parts.com/star/

I have never got them to respond via e-mail.

None of the other usual suspects shows anything in stock.
