1989 vintage S&W 629-2, 44 mag, "Mountain" revolver, 4" barrel, brushed stainless finish with original box. This was the original mountain gun, before they were named mountain guns. Cool little gun!

One of the best...

I have one of them and it is my favorite handgun. It will shoot with the best of them and is not too much to carry all day. I even use mine for concealed carry sometimes. Some needed a bit of help when new because quality control was not great back then, but have not seen one that needed more than just minor work.

I was lucky to find a nice 629-5 a couple months ago.

The last of the pre-lock guns. I wish they had kept up the roll stamping instead of the laser etching though.

Not a brushed finish, but a bead blasted finish....

I have one just like it and it is one of my favorite guns, along with its counterpart in 45 Colt. It is a great outdoors gun here in black bear country. My usual load is a 250 grain SWC with 10 grains of Unique.....
