10 ga shotshells
I am Looking to make some Black powder 10 ga shells . I am in need for empty hulls. Does anyone have some 10 ga hulls that can part with? I don't need a lot just enough to take to the woods. J.Michael
Ooo....that wouldn't be a damascus double would it?
I love those big 10 gauge hammer doubles of old. They are beautiful...and powerful. More than most people think.
I used to have a big box of paper 10 gauge hulls. Sadly, they are gone. Never found the gun I wanted either.
Curious to hear more about yours.

Not Mine . Bestest of friends inherited is grand fathers. Has had it since we were kids and he wants to take one deer with it. I bought powder over wads and shot wads. Just need some hulls. Looking for 10 ga brass hulls was no good. Going to reload by hand no 10 ga tools. J.Michael

Look at RST shot shells. They don't have deer loads, but they do load 2-7/8 inch low pressure loads that can be safely used in older 10 gauge guns in good condition. I regularly shoot them in my 1880s A. Hollis 10 gauge hammer gun with damascus barrels.
If you call, they'll probably tell you the nominal pressure to which those shells are loaded. Nice people and very interested in providing shells for guns that don't digest modern high pressure loads without burping.

Would love to see a photo of your Hollis double. NT
The 2 7/8" 10 gauge doubles are fascinating to me.

I may have some around as well as wads. When I got out of cowboy shooting I was using a cut down Remington 1882. It was a lot of fun to shoot. Gathered a crowd for sure!!
I'll look when I get home tonight. Not sure if I included them when I sold off the shotgun several years back.
