Colt letter received on a pawn shop find.
It is still just as it was from the factory. Interesting that Colt's website says it was made in 1939, but the shipment date was 1947. I never thought a piece of paper was worth $75, but this is very neat to have for the first time.
Factory letters are fun...
and sometimes confusing. It's common for close serial #s to be years apart on shipping. There's all kinds of weird and interesting things in factory letters.
How long did that letter take to come to you?
I sent off for it in late November.
They sent me a confirmation card in early December that stated a 100-120 day turn-around.
In this day that seems like forever. It's a nice reality check.
Colt letter received on a pawn shop find.
From NY to Boise, makes one wonder by what means and who carried it out there. :)
How it got from there to here is one of the most
interesting aspects of such things. VERY cool.
