Looking for a handgun hog hunt...

any recommendations in TX? I'm in Ft Worth and looking into places (within 4 hrs) where you have a decent chance at multiples on a day hunt or maybe 2 day hunt. A lot of places are pricing around $500 an animal and that's too high. There are so many places out there I thought I would check to see what your favorites might be? Thanks.

Check with the Langley Ranch at Centerville, and the Guest Ranch at Strawn.

Thx for the suggestions...

Langley has a trophy fee based upon live weight. No thanks. The other place is pretty high end but I'm not sure of their pricing structure.

Never been to texas......

but have always wanted to visit for a hunt.......knowing the "hunting ranches" are out of my price range, i looked into real working ranches needing problem hogs killed.......this is what you read in ads when researching hog hunting on small working ranches......

"we have a serious feral hog problem, costing us tens of thousands of dollars in damage each year....please come stay at our ranch and experience real down home rural texas hospitality while helping control the devastating hogs....." ....then read the fine print...."and by the way, in the name of the celebrated down home texas hospitality and for the opportunity to help us with our hog problems, me and the boys will take you out to the tractor shed and hang you by the ankles and shake you till $1200 to $2000 of green and coin fall out......"

There's also the problem of...

do they really have consistent hogs to hunt? Many of them will charge you $500 and show you photos from last year. Sounds good until you arrive and there isn't fresh sign. Hogs move around.

That's why I don't mind kill fees but they should be reasonable.

Just hang out at Jarrods with some NVGs
