Anybody have Rifle Issue #66, Nov 1979?

I would appreciate a scan of an article, if possible. Purchase the magazine outright is also an option. Page 27, Ken Waters on the .375 Express.

Thanks for any help!

Is that the one necked down from 45-70?

Seems I remember a reprint in a wildcat book somewhere. Will look for it.

He started with the .444 Marlin.

Thanks John!

would be excellent in a winch 94 big bore !

that is what they should have offered instead of the 375 Winchester cartridge

I am intrigued...

Looking at a bolt gun but it's a pretty neat cartridge. Per Ken Waters, it's nothing special and there's lot of others what do much the same but still....

Became famous as the .375 JDJ...

The only problem with using that or the .375 JDJ in a Winchester or Marlin is you are limited to short nose bullets. Most .375 bullets are fairly long and tend to make an unmanageable OAL when seated in a full length .444 case necked down for the lever actions.

The .375 JDJ is an excellent carbine cartridge. Roger uses one in a contender carbine and has killed a bunch of stuff with it. His wife carried it to Africa last year and shot several plains game.

true, but it would kinda make a "38/55 magnum" for lever

guns. i saw a model 71 that was a .375 based on the big 348 case...with proper bullet construction that would be a real smasher.

Found it!

Call off the dogs...

Thanks to John's post it occurred to me to look at Wolfe's "Big Bore Rifles and Cartridges" as it contains reprints of many Rifle articles. Big as life and starting on pg 187.

Thanks John and any others.
