Now I need to apply for a tax stamp and find an appropriately licensed 'smith to SBR this thing. Believe it or not, Washington state law will not allow me to "manufacture" an SBR, even with the Federal tax stamp, but I can purchase one that is already built.
So if I send this to a "licensed" builder out of state, and it is returned as an SBR, I am good to go. Out a wad of cash, but good to go.
I blame Boge for posting the video of Jeff shooting the Inland Advisor SBR........inflamed my long sleeping teenage fantasies. No Bob, not the ones about Joey Heatherton. Sheesh!

Never had nor even saw a paratroop version in the RVN, but in our hooch was an M-1 and an M-2, both with cut off buttstocks and claymore bags with filled mags.

My dad told me about a couple of the Huey pilots in his company (he was a crew chief/door gunner) that had M-2'a that had been cut off at both ends. He said when they went into a hot LZ, they'd shove them out of the window and blast off a magazine or two. He said they probably never hit anything but grass and trees, but it made them feel better!!

I've wanted a shorty M1 since I was a kid, for no reason other than it would make me feel better, so I guess that puts me in the same boat, er, uh, Huey!

Sounds good. Can a local 02/07 cut it down for you and you just F4 it to yourself? Odd that the state won't allow you to do it yourself, but I guess it's the same cost in the tax stamp either way, just a bit more wait.
