OOF!
As Jack would say.
Differences......a question for Rob or Jack
Front sight blade on mine is ramp (at least no red insert, yuk) and my grips are Hogue monogrips. Did some of these come fitted with Hogue's? Just wondering.
Nice revolvers for a woodsman. What more would one need except in brown bear country?
I'm neither Rob or Jack but...
I believe they did. I had a 624 4" that came standard with a hogue monogrip.
Differences.
My specific knowledge, along with the rest of my world, quits at around 1985. This was the factory issue when they first came out, but then the custom houses like Lew Horton started contracting special models of all kinds. Not to mention S&W getting in on some of that action too. So this gun with Hogues and a ramp sight as a factory issue gun would not surprise me a bit, though I don't remember having owned one, which doesn't mean I haven't.:)

my 6.5" 24 had wood target stocks and a red ramp front sight
as did both of my Uncle's 624s... I still have my Andy Cannon hybrid 29/with a 24 barrel to console me, but...

Four Inch.
I have a 4" 624 with a glass smooth action, and Westinghouse micarta grips. It never gets anywhere close to Gunbroker.:)

They did come with a ramp front sight from the factory. I've never seen a 624 of that era that came from the factory with Hogues. Even the Lew Horton short-barreled guns came with factory wood combat stocks.
Nice gun, Jack!
i like the Kit Guns that you have for sale also... so much so that I have a pair and a spare of 'em. Probably the most useful gun I own, in some ways.
