Recruiting

Recruiting young ones is another Great Commissions for us old Primer Poppers.

Had some visitors over last week. Young, from D.C. area. They enjoyed the freedom of the woods immensely.

A young man (21) tried everything he wanted to try and settled on a good revolver. Like most he was impressed by autos (especially Glocks) ……… and then he shot some.

He will start with a revolver without a doubt. Eventually he will end up with an auto but he sees the light re: starting with a good ol’ six shooter.

He actually performed pretty well for his first time out. I’ll clean up the brass when the mower exposes it.

BTW he is now an NRA member in good standing.

Persevere folks… they are our future.

(I tire of posting the news since it is usually bad. This past week however, was unusually good for this geezer. I thought it would be good to share with those appreciative.)

Find a program and volunteer to help

This is a great message! If you don't have a place to do it at home like this poster, find a program you can believe in and get involved. I started working with the Appleseed folks last year and its given me new hope about getting newcomers involved in the shooting sports.

One of my favorite activities:

Taking first time shooters, regardless of age, to the range. Kids are particularly fun. We have hosted range time for a number of groups including work visitors from the UK and India. It was a real thrill for some.
