South Dakota prairie dog hunting?
My brother and I are looking at heading west this year over thanksgiving weekend to go bird hunting. Probably going to South Dakota. You can't hunt pheasant until 10 or 12, and he was wondering about prairie dog hunting in the morning. I've never been out west at all, but had a trip planned many years ago with some buddies that fell apart. We were told at the time that you'd just go to the local feed store and there was usually a bullitien board with names and numbers to call for places to come shoot them. Does anyone know if it still works like that? We wouldn't be real serious, probably take a couple of my AR's and try our hand at them. I'm a mediocre rifle shot and my brothers not very good, but it'd be fun to try out and a good way to kill a few hours while we wait to let the dogs loose on ring necks!
Any advice or help is very welcome!
Thanks,
Doug K
