Saw one here, with a dot sight. Seeking a discreet CB-popper. and that one looks just dandy. Any pro's con's -- or just buy it, and litle red sqwills -- beware.

Rascal -- any other shorty discret .22's welcome

I really enjoy long barrel 22 rifles and shorts or CB caps. They are as quiet as a pellet gun and can hit harder. The downside is the cost per shot, much higher than the air guns. The first gun I had unlimited access to was a GECO carbine chambered for the 22 BB caps. It was hell on English Sparrows, crows and frogs, but did not impress woodchucks too much.

When I graduated to the 22 l.r., the woodchucks were more impressed, but only if I snuck in close and put the pill into the brain pan. If I was too far away, could not be sure of the pill making it through the skull and they could sometimes make it back down their hole. I was paid a dollar for each 'chuck, but had to supply the carcass to claim my money and if they got down the hole I did not get paid. The idea was to get rid of holes in the field, not make bigger ones by digging after them. lol

I just switched from the Colibri 22 that are primer powered to little 22 shorts for the same reason. Still quiet but the local grey digger varmints were not overly impressed when plugged with the Colibris. Just a pain because my Kimber rifle obviously doesn't feed the shorts from the magazine so it is a hand load each one and the loading area on a 22 bolt action Kimber does not leave much room for these fat little sausage fingers!:-|

Might want to consider an older Win bolt 22 (69, 75, 52, 57) they all share a common magazine, are not hard to find, very well made, generally not too expensive, and you can occasionally find 22 short magazines for them.

I went with a Benjamin Titan 22 pellet rifle

Has considerably more authority than a 177 and being nitrogen piston is pretty quiet. Haven't had a chance to test it on a squirrel yet though but price of projectiles is a whole lot cheaper and there are no shortages.

Have one, very accurate, like the peep sight, It's short but It can still be shot well by a full size person. Like the feed ramp, the cock on opening bolt and especially the accu-trigger. Personally I think it is the best of the mini-22 bolt guns. The plastic stock is hollow and if one were so inclined there is plenty of room for kit like; Bik lighter, candle, small knife, 100 rounds ammo, para-cord, space blanket, fire starter, fish hooks, Neosporin, roll of tape, garbage bag, etc. Buy one and don't look back.
