She is home!!!

Model 19-3 :-) This is my repentance for letting go of my first handgun that I bought personally...a 6" Model 66 in 1985. Obviously this one is not a 6" but it'll do...and it shoots! [image]

I sure do understand the motivation. Nice!

She is home!!!

That's a beauty, rob. With the right ammo, and carried in a good strongside belt holster, there is likely no faster or more effective personal defense weapon than a 2 1/2 inch Model 19. I sure do like mine.

BTW, they's a feller out in Arizonga somewheres who kin make a dandy holster fer that li'l gun.

Oh yeah...he'll get a call just as soon as I recover...

Let's just say I wasn't gonna let this gun...

get away. Have to pay myself back now:) But I agree...this is a prize I've waited years for!

In 1965 I bought a Model 19

and was my favorite sixgun in those days. In 1971 I had to sell it to pay tuition when I went back to school. Last year, I bought this one as my repentance. It was made in 1966 and is a suitable replacement. Sometimes we do get to go back and do it over.

Model 19 is really hard to beat

We talk a lot about "perfect packing pistol", when in reality the M19 is hard to beat.

I would agree...

My 4" GP100 is nice (and rugged) but the balance of a 4" 19 or 66 is about as perfect as perfect gets.

Very nice Charles!

One of these days I'd like to find a 4" blue version as well. I have all the stainless guns I need in both .357 and .44.

19's are great (as well as the 66's)

I have to confess to not owning a Model 19 until about 14-15 years ago.

I to had a Model 686 I purchased new. That was 31 years ago. I had just started a new job as a local police officer. A year later, I left the police department and being strapped for cash, sold it.

I always said I would replace the 686 ane finally scored a dandy 686-1 a few years back. I owned many other S&W 357's through the years, but never a 19. Then I decided to try IDPA with a revolver. I found a like new 19-5 for $250 and it came home with me. Neither of those guns are going anywhere soon.

I see you also got an added bonus, those Herretts seem to fit my hand to a tee.

The Herrett's are most definitely...

very comfortable. I may change them to something a bit more compact for carry but I'm glad to have these stocks.

Nice
