For Hoot and others re: 300 BLK bullets
One of the good things about our modern era is that whatever bullet you are interested in, somebody somewhere has probably shot gelatin with it and posted the results to YouTube.

Loaded ammo cheap
Shooters Pro Shop has loaded Nosler 110 ammo for 12.95 a box as an additional %15 off over $150
I just bought 16 boxes delivered for $188
Thanks Mark.
Reason I ask was because I class the BLK right along side the 7.62x39 in terms of bullet weight (normal vs. the heavies) and similar enough in velocity to make the difference mostly academic. Mebee it only works that way in my head but, hey, it's my world and they know me there.
I believe Miss Melodie will be taking One Each: Rifle, Shortie Commie out in the field this fall or for hogs in the spring and was trying to gauge effectiveness.
I wholly expect there are probably a multitude of YouTube vids involving the short commie round but I never thought to look.
Cheers!
Barnes offers several bullets designed
Specifically for the Short Commie round. I expect that they work quite well.
Thanks Mark.
I have not loaded the 7.62x39, having accumulated a fair quantity of surp ammo some years back before the prices went screwy. Some of it is Norinco 122 grain soft point. I was VERY skeptical that the Chinks could make an expanding bullet that worked, especially in the 16" barrel of my SKS Para. That was until I tried some of the SPs in a water-jug fixture. They not only expanded, they blew my water-jug box all to flinders. I would not hesitate to plink a reasonable-sized hawg with them, and from the scuttlebutt I hear lately around the feed store, that may come to pass as soon as the critters figure a way across the river from Trousdale County.
Seeing as how I am from the "Mo' bigger is mo' better" crowd
I have probably seriously underestimated the capabilities of both cartridges.
I appreciate the input.
I fully understand
currently contemplating loading 125 TNTs or similar in .308 for home defense use in the FAL. Overkill works.
I fully understand
I load the 125 TNT's in my .300 bill loads. I have shot a few of them in my FN .308 bolt gun. They shoot entry accurate enough for coyotes but I've never been in the right place/time to punch one yet!

Good deal! Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks Mark.
I bought several boxes of this stuff awhile back and have shot it in both of my AK's.

It shoots about as well as I can shoot with a so-so trigger and red dot. Easily hits half sized silhouette targets at 100 yards, even out of the SBR. Matter of fact, that's what is loaded in the mags in the grab bag with the M92 Shorty.
