THAT .44 SPECIAL GOES BACK ABOUT 25 YEARS OR SO. SAME TIME FRAME AS THE 396 AND 696.
I haven't seen one of those in a few years.
I understand they were a ripsnortin', red headed, hemroidal, fire breathing, bucking longhorn bull to shoot. I nearly ordered one when they came out. Numerous times since, I wish I had.
I thought Charter Arms 44 Bulldogs were bad enough...

They came out around 10 years ago, I guess, and were met with a huge yawn. CDNN quickly bought up all the leavings, and was selling them for $350. I bought 4, and they went quick. I should have bought 20.

They were so incredibly ugly, that probably limited their appeal. The 396 is much more interesting looking, although I do understand the usefulness of the shrouded hammer.
