I will finally be the owner of a .41...

after I get this threaded, chambered, finished and stocked, anyway. As you might guess from deciphering the barrel markings, it will not be a .41 Magnum. :-D :-D

An old school ".41 Magnum"......

....more properly called the .450/400 Nitro Express 3" (loaded with a 370 grain GC cast bullet at 2150 fps).

I'm thinking belted instead of rimmed...

But yeah :-)

More like this, unless the plan has changed...

I'd like to claim being a bad influence on Mark but somehow, I think it started way before we met.

I'll admit I've toyed with the idea of a Rigby

There's a P-14 action on Gunbroker that would be just the thing for that. :-D

hah!

First off......ABOUT time you get a 41 : )

Rigby would be cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then again the 416 Taylor is very interesting and you have a supply of 458 brass to make ammo with.

But here is a thought.....unscrew the barrel off you CZ 458 and thread the 416 cal barrel for it, would be the only change needed and you would be ready to go.

I have a couple of commercial magnum 98 actions sitting in the basement waiting to be made into something. The Rigby on a standard-length 98 CAN be done, but there are certainly easier ways to go about it.

Yep. It CAN be a brute though.

So far, it's been kept pretty mild but it still gets your attention.

Especially with the factory Savage stock!

Thinking laminated from Boyd's for this one. With a number #4 taper barrel, it's going to end up fairly light; only question is HOW light.
