Any board members ever played with 209 powered wax bullets?
I played with regular primed wax bullets and they worked well and were plenty fast.
I've played with regular primed plastic reusable bullets
in the past. They were fun. We used to shoot them in the garage growing up.
Dittos here. I have 50 converted .38 Special cases just
for wax bullets.

The 209's are reserved for the .25ACP....
with a No. 3 shot dropped in the tube. Good for a case of the near terminal giggles and able to penetrate impressively far into a dry phone book. However, do not be tempted to shoot them at a plywood backed target. Don't ask me how I know.
I have a number of cases with drilled flash holes which use wax bullets. I've tried both magnum as well as standard primers and have not seen much difference. Even went on a mouse hunt with my M-29 one evening...much to Miss Beth's incredulity. Never did score on the little bugger.

....I reamed out some .223 cases to accept 209 primers, and then I would load .22 caliber pellets into the cases and shoot them out of my .223 Contender. I forget how fast they were going, but they were moving right along, and accuracy was surprisingly good. As I recall, we got better performance with just a dab of lube in the wasp-waist of the pellet prior to loading it into the unsized .223 case.

That is something I've never thought of. Now I need a .223 Contender! Been wanting one for a while anyhow. I used to shoot .44 wax bullets, both cookie cutter style and even used a Keith mold and poured them. They were quite accurate too!
Forgot about that!
I have the same set up for a Triple-Deuce.
I've done that. Lotsa fun!

I did that with a .22 hornet. I had a Savage 219 single shot with a nice long barrel. It was super quiet and fun to shoot in the back yard. Now I've got an old RWS Diana .22 side cocker. Funny thing is, my Savage MKII with my gemtech can is quieter than the pellet rifle!!
Reamed 44spl cases
to accept 209 primers. Use plastic 'bullets'. lots of fun shooting 15' at the door with 'em.
