About 300 rounds of 173 grain Keith & 15 grains of H-110 can cost you this.

Does this mean you are going to step up to a N frame 357 instead of beating that poor model 19 up?:-)

You mean something like this
Well I made it out a fired a few of these on Wednesday. It was raining & wouldn't quit so I shot at a few rocks out of my truck window. I couldn't stay in the house any longer. Most the rocks were 'bout 50 yards so I sighted in best I could. Maybe I'll get some on paper next week.

Bulge in one of the chambers.

Classic Keith bullet and 21gr of 2400 within a couple thousand rounds if they were lucky? Smiths have never been the toughest platforms but sure feel and shoot the best for me of all of the double actions out there.

Last model 29 here was a dash 3. It was a tough bird. Shot it for 8 years with the Lyman 429421 & 20 grains of 2400. It was pretty loose when I sold it.

........revolvers, this is why I shoot a GP100 for my DA .357. I have a 6" barreled version with the half lug. Certainly heavier than a Combat Magnum, but I don't imagine I would have a similar bill from Ruger. Still and all, you are shooting and having fun so where's the harm, right?

True, I was just using too much load for the little gun.

Shouldn't that be "Pettus" WV instead of the way they have it spelled?

Good eye. It was Pettus, cross from the mouth of Marfork, back when I worked for Pennzoil.

I've been up Marfork hollow more than I care for working for MSHA that's for sure. Man that is some rugged mountains. But there is some interesting places to shoot up there if a guy lived in that area and he had access

When I lived at Pettus back in the 72-77 I ran that ridge a bunch with my Super Blackhawk.

I would be interested in which series it is? All of mine are -3 or earlier and I've shot some of them pretty hard with 158 gr JHPs for any years.
