Croft Slip Gun

I was perusing my copy of Guns magazine and of course, I start at the back with JT's column. I thought it was so neat to see one of Elmer Keith's/Dr. Croft's sixguns, particularly the slip gun. NEAT. Then I read that Jack Curro owns it. Some of us here know, at least through Leverguns, Mr. Curro. VERY neat. A good custodian of this historic piece if that is indeed what it is and it might very, very well be just that. TOO cool.

JUST GOT WORD THAT CROFT'S #2 SIXGUN OF THE FOUR CUSTOMS HE BROUGHT OUT HERE TO SHARE WITH ELMER IS UP FOR SALE. I'VE HANDLED TWO OF THEM AND SHOT ONE. BOTH HAVE TWO DATES ON THEM; PRE-ELMER AND POST-ELMER VISIT. I'M GUESSING THEY WERE RE-DATED WHEN CROFT CONVERTED THEM TO .44 SPECIAL.

There was one Croft gun on display in November at the Tulsa show. It was not in the general display section but tucked away in a corner against the upper level wall. I asked if it was for sale, but it was not.

I don't remember the details on it, though.

I would love to get some info on this one, John. Can you share any details?

Thanks,

Matt
