An astute observation....

from a guy who has been in both the military and business worlds.

"The nature of military life consists of vital tasks like setting objectives, allocating resources, and solving problems, all things which can be accomplished by most young enlisted people but evidently devilishly difficult to do by elected officials and highly compensated business executives. This is even more startling when one considers that often the best performance from our young troops occurs when people are trying to kill them, which led an old friend to propose that such intense motivation would serve to improve the performance of government leaders and business executives and, if nothing else, would weed out those among them who were in poor physical condition and couldn't run very fast."

- Col. Jack Jacobs, MOH, U.S. Army (Ret.)

The power of the vote of the people appears to be of insufficient threat to most of our elected "leaders". Maybe somethng else would do it.....

Unfortunate choice of words on your part, Hobie. I'm still kicking myself about the reasonably nice Winchester Model 70 .30-06 I didn't buy for $300 a few months back.
Thanks for reminding me.
