Good on Benchmade

Was in Cabelas yesterday and while talking to the guy at the knife counter he relayed to me that two SEALS came in ,just back from Afganistan, and they said a Benchmade auto was being sold there for $100. That model I believe was the Infidel and Cabelas had it priced at $400.

I have always liked Benchmade and own three of them. Now I respect them even more. I am sure the $100 just covered cost of materials and labor if even that.

It is great the way some of our companies support the troops.

I found it listed for $400

at one of the best online knife retailers. Surprised it was that low at Cabelas.

Spyderco similarly gives a lot of support to military, law enforcement and emergency responders. Of course they make knives to sell, and slow sellers sometimes get discontinued. But if they make models that are popular with military and law enforcement, they will keep making them even if they are slow sellers in the commercial market.

No it was $400 at Cabelas. Benchmade was selling it for $100 in Afganistan.

I was suspicious of Cabela's prices

I checked one of the better online retailers and they had a simiilar price. I didn't think the Benchmade Infidel was that expensive but turns out it is. Benchmade apparently has a really good program of discounts for military.
