We had two come through the shop.....

.....and I am in lust. Sold one to the local "latest, greatest" kid. I can just about guarantee that he will swap it back to us in a month or so....like he has done with the dozen other pistols he has bought over the past year. I'll grab it up then, at a bargain price.

The other went to a fellow who will likely keep it forever.

My impression? Absolutely perfect.....almost. If I had designed it I would have blackened the slide as I just have never cottoned to reverse two-tone. And there are Commander hammers I like better. But that is all cosmetic, the pistol itself is absolutely terrific.

I'm sure there will be a TALO edition

now. I took the black stainless slide from my Ruger 1911 Commander Night Watchman, the one that came with night sights on it, and it dropped right in on to of my Lightweight frame.

Put a set of ivories on it, and an extended slide release (for personal preference), and it is good to go. Sits right at home in my Simply Rugged IWB holster.

Of course, now I have a stainless steel slide on top of my blackened stainless frame (the lower from my Night Watchman), but what the heck, I will find a use for it!! :-)

I hav en't owned one but in handling and shooting, prefer the standard model...

Reverse two tone? Does not matter to me I have both...

Vying for current favorite EVERYDAY CARRY PISTOL.Kimber CUSTOM WITH ALLOY FRAME 5" ...
My only standard weight Combat Commander, is fun to shoot , less to too carry all day every day...[image]
This SR1911 Commander was Jim Elliott's retired plant manger of the Prescott Ruger operation....the day after our 19 hotshots died, he donated this to a raffle to directly benefit the fireman's families...Simply Rugged drew two winning tickets and won this and another donated SR1911 Commander...this one is dedicated to my friend Scott Norris, a man among men.
