Great afternoon out there fellas!
Good afternoon folks! It's another day where I woke up above ground ( breaking my previous record of 57 years 347 days old)
On January 2, I had prostate cancer surgery and I'm getting noticeably better every day.
The pathology reports said "Surgical margins clear". Lymph nodes are clear. Pending tests in two months, my surgeon said he's 99% certain I'm cancer free and will remain so for life.
Now I'll get on topic and talk about guns.
A few years ago I bought a S&W 1006 with 5 magazines for a good price.
It's a fixed sight model w/ the Novak dovetail cut.
I'm looking for an after market rear adjustable sight. I find a couple of them listed but never any in stock.
Like this, but for the 10mm-45 3rd Gen pistols.

I've searched Novak, Brownells, TPU, and S&W 1006 sights.
Anyone have a lead on an adjustable rear sight for the 1006?
When I bought the 1006, it came with Hogue rubber grips. Well, the 1006 has a pretty wide grip frame front to back. For my short meaty hands, it's been a challenge to get comfortable with it squirming around in my hands due to poor grip form.
I got serious tracking down a set of factory "Nylon" one piece grips. I'd have preferred the flat back strap but it has the arched mainspring housing profile. Akin to the 1911/arched mainspring feel. I really like these New Old Stock grips. These are much slimmer than the Hogue's, making it possible for me to get a consistant hold with good form.
Did I say I love these ? I ran 100 rounds through the 1006 with the new grips and I think it's a keeper.
I have three molds a 165gr TC, 180gr. RNFP, and a 200gr. TC.
Waiting on a .401" die for my lubrisizer, and we'll see what they can do. I like the profile of the 180 RNFP, let's hope is shoots well in this gun.
