I have a question, automotive related. I seem to remember you turn wrenches for a living. My '02 F150 is making a growling noise from the front end. I can't tell if its left or right hand side, but when I turn right, taking pressure off of the right side, it goes totally quiet. Sounds like a wheel bearing; right? Well, I replaced the hub assembly a month or so back and it still makes the same noise! I thought maybe front axle shaft, but we got snow yesterday and I drove it 20 miles in 4wd and no difference in the noise. Any guesses?

That was what it was when my truck did that ,my mechanic said it would be silent when you slightly turned wheel.......we replaced and fixed..........then other side did same thing later and same situation and fix.
