Gun related post, I swear.....
It dawned on me the other day, I never posted anything about my annual hog hunt this past May and something I accomplished after years of trying to do, I FINALLY bloodied my Clements 41 Special......
Lost count how many hunts I took it on and never got a chance to use it, came close a few times but either the stalk got busted or time didn't allow me to get it into action. This year's hog hunt, after dragging it around all day Saturday along with the Ruger 416 Alaskan, I never got an opportunity to use either. Sunday morning, hunting with Hoot's brother Dan, I came upon a 200 pounder in a small clearing about 50 yards away, handed the 416 to Dan, pulled the 41 Special out, then stalked to about 18 yards from him. Sent a 200gr Speer half jacket thru the chest, he spun and started to take off when I hit him again, high in the back and spined him, he dropped on the spot. Most excited I have been in years hunting, really love that gun and was nice to finally pull the trigger on a animal after years of carrying it.

I've been fascinated by the idea of the 41 SPL since it first crossed my radar years ago. It makes a lot of sense in a compact package. Glad you finally got 'er blooded right properly!
Mr. Jurras!

Well, that will have to do...
