And now, for something completely different.
I've been pestering the crew over at doublegun.com to find out information about a little rifle I picked up. Thought it may be of some interest here as well.
Sauer & Sohn, Suhl. Tell V chambered in 9.3x57R/360.
Assuming it's all as delivered, it is a black powder cartridge sending a 190-200gr bullet out around 1400 or so. I need to finish up doing a chamber cast and slug the bore then it's off to find components. It ought to be some kind of fun!

Y'betcha...thosw stalking rifles are well-balanced, light delights -- fortunately in a reasonable 'to make' caliber, also. Paint a whitetail with white spots so it looks like a roe deer, with the rifle leaning against it ---- so it feels at home here in america.
That does look like some sort of cool....
What I was raised calling a Jaeger rifle, and definitely should be extremely fun. Hopefully everything works as it should because there are likely no spare parts for such rifles and anything that needs to be replaced will have to be made from scratch. Very much looking forward to seeing some range reports on it!
COOL!
Me likey.
That is one cool butt rifle.....
I get a kick out of finding items like that and getting 'em shootin again.
Oh dear
.
Neat!

I'm thinking I need to follow Hoot around at gun shops just to scavenge his leftovers.
I think that may be a good idea.

Thanks guys!
I have been cursed with a keen interest in out of the ordinary firearms and cartridges and blessed with the opportunities and wherewithal to play with some of them.
I do appreciate all of your indulgence in my madness.
And now, for something completely different.
Very cool, Hoot.
