Finally got one......
For years I have wanted a F150, today I solved that problem........
Slightly used 2014 XLT Sunset Metallic 5.0/V8
My 2005 Dakota was giving me fits, getting old and I think a little possessed, so I traded it in for the XLT. Excited is a understatement!!!!! Thankfully I have a good job and recently received a nice pay raise or this would not have happened. Life is good, everyone is healthy, oldest daughter graduates from college in 4 weeks, middle daughter in 6 weeks and youngest daughter is doing great in high school and I own a Ford F150 : )

Good luck with it.
Finally got one......
Sweet looking ride Gunner.
Murphy
how many miles did you put on the 2005 dakota ? i have a
2006 that just turned over 100,000; has been fairly reliable , no breakdowns. wonder how long it will last.
that is a beauty. have been thinking of one of those when this dakota is no longer viable.
Looking good !!

Dakota miles.......
Had 142,283 on it this morning when I traded it in, here are some of the repairs I have made on it at mileage points.....
83,658 power steering pump, rack & pinion assembly, lower steering shaft assembly, 2 outer tie rods
91,325 right front brake caliper assembly
107,274 exhaust manifold
113,057 A/C pressure switch
113,281 transfer case electric motor
137,954 front struts, left front brake caliper assembly, 2 front sway bar linkage rods
141,706 #4 ignition coil
She has been throwing check engine codes saying #4 cylinder miss firing, repair shop thinks the injector is sticky, ran injector cleaner thru the system, solved the problem for two days, then light came back on, then code showed multiple cylinders miss firing. She has been weird lately with electrical quirks and the transmission has been acting up, seems slow to engage and feed power to the rear end, which was my main reason to get rid of her, didn't want to invest money in a trainy repair, been told by lots of Dodge and mainly Dakota owners transmission are crappy. Hope this info helps.

Dodge is known for crappy transmissions. My
2005 2500 4x4 diesel had to have it rebuilt at 149000. Good thing the body is still perfect and the Cummins engine is strong. Your truck looks very nice-can't wait to see it in person. :>)
That's nice. My 2004 still runs great. I can't bring
myself to buy a new one with the same features much less a 4-door (which is what I want) due to current prices.

it does help. have had some of these same issues already...
trasnmission has been okay so far, but just wondering at what point i need to start planning to get something else. i do like the vehicle overall.....guess i still can squeeze a few more years out of it.
thanks, that was helpful !
Sweet!!!
Can we use it to haul pigs next spring?
Nice lookin' ride Gunner.
Hope you enjoy it for years to come.
Load of crap.....
With all the crap Tom and I bring, well, mostly me : )
We need his long bed with camper top to haul it all, so no, the F150 will stay home.

O baloney
If three of us can get everything in an Explorer, surely you two can get your stuff in an F150...
Yeah Mark!
Mebee he could leave it at the ranch for a while for the boys to use as a "shake down" tour!
That aint happening.

Yeah but I massively over pack, the two of us fill his Dodge 2500. Remember I also bring the Weber and supplies.

We do fill the truck up. I think we bring more stuff
for the weekend than I did on 3 African safaris combined.
Those front door windows need tint.
You know who to call.
Awesome!
Congrats...if I remember correctly, at that first CSA you had a white Astro Van? That 5.0 is a nice power plant too:)
I think most of the transmission issues...
are pretty much ironed out now. I have a custome with a Dakota with 300,000+ on it. None of the power locks or windows work any more and it needs a lot of work but it just keeps on going. This one has a 318 in it. I have a 2008 Wrangler JK and I intend to drive it for the rest of my life.
Awesome!
Finally got one......
I think the the demand for older Ford Trucks will increase since they are replacing some steel in the bodies for lighter weight alumanim (sp) starting in 2015 models.
