Ruger Now Offers Engraved Grade 1 New Vaqueros® as Standard Items
November 02, 2005
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is pleased to announce that it now offers New Vaquero single-action revolvers engraved by the Ruger Studio of Art & DecorationSM as standard items.
Now fans of "Old West" guns can have a beautifully engraved Ruger New Vaquero single-action revolver at the very reasonable price of $1,000, or $1,950 for a consecutive serially numbered engraved pair, which includes the price of the stainless steel Ruger New Vaqueros with black checkered 'hard rubber' grips or simulated ivory grips.
Unlike firearms with plating or etched faux engraving that barely marks the surface, these New Ruger Vaqueros feature genuine engraving cut into the surface of the revolver's cylinder, cylinder frame, barrel, and grip frame. The skilled artisans of the Ruger Studio of Art & Decoration take a standard engraving pattern and hand-cut and finish the engraving to an exquisite degree.
The above was taken from Ruger New Release...but no pictures...I got one yesterday and WOWZER...have it in new Vaquero 45 LCs tainless and gorgeous rosewood grips...stunning...got it from dealer locally for 925.....gorgeous....no flies on this effort....
Is this the same methodology as they used on the
recently released SP101s? The cuts on those glittered as the raw edges of the cuts were like highly polished stainless (the Colt guns are an example of that). The one we had (yes, it sold) really attracted attention. I think those were a Talo release. I'd like to handle one these latest just to see.

Can't wait to see good photos... I want my old Blue/CC one scratched up some. Maybe they will eventually offer the work on earlier Rugers.
The date is from 2005? (nt)

Don't know when...BUT...this is the first in El Paso ...
so I grabbed it...very nice...no flies on it...relief but not high relief...but when ya rub your fingers over it you can feel the edges...sharp and well executed...and for a ridiculously cheap price...I have other engraved guns and had custom work done and tell ya this is far better than a lot of the cratchings I have seen come out of Colt and Winchester.....this has presence...! and it is flat gorgeous...my dealer had it in with custom work in a glass locked case and I just happened by and saw it...asked and he said first in El Paso, and I looked at it and held it...now mine..
I emailed the pres of Ruger and told him what a fine piece this is and congratulated him on seeing this to completion...wanted more....etc....

Hokey Smokes!
Believe you can call customer service and ask for that department...according to press release...singles are supposed to retailfor 1000 and matched pair 1900....and they sound like they will be doing others....but when asked my dealer he thought only a limited number had been done....not so per news release...when I saw the one I have ...knew it was mine right then....ridiculously cheap for the quality...and presentation rosewood grips....much better than what is pictured...
One for sale here
Correction - not the same gun
The one I posted is one of a run of 500 TALO just had done. Doesn't look nearly as nice as Gila's to my eye, nor as much coverage.
Fer Pete's sake Gila...
post a picher of that thing!!
