San Antonio PD trade-ins....

I remember back in the early '80 during the BIG Dallas gunshows tables full of SAPD trade-in M58s. Between the grey matter and scar tissue I recall the prices less than $200.
Many new guns in the box as well as well worn/lightly fired street veterans.
Coulda woulda shoulda......

I bought a few Model 15's at the Dallas Market Square show for 150 each. I sure do miss those Dallas gun shows...

Dallas PD also issued the 58 for a short while. You couldn't give the things away until guys began to convert them to .44spec and .45colt, which made a great big-bore fixed sight knockabout gun. That's when they began to dry up, a *lot* of them went under the knife about the time N-frame fever hit, and they have been crazy inflated ever since.

This guy is actually a big time S&W Collector. He does all the big shows and usually has 6-8 tables all covered with the Blue S&W collectors table cloths.
He always has a ton of nice old in the box stuff.
